    Mukran Port

Larger ships with a maximum draught of 13,5 m can be loaded here. The Sassnitz/Mukran ferry port is the largest railway ferry port in Germany and, due to its outstanding importance for rail transport, is an important hub for freight traffic with Scandinavia and the Baltic States. Its location on the open sea allows for easy port access. The Sassnitz/Mukran ferry port is the only port in Western Europe to also have track and transhipment facilities for Russian broad gauge – and is therefore also considered the ‘westernmost cargo station of the Trans-Siberian Railway’.

    Vierow Port

On the southern edge of the Greifswald Bodden, we have established ourselves as efficient specialists in the handling and storage of grain, oilseeds, animal feed and other foodstuffs. The speed and flexibility of a small family business, coupled with the reliable technology and logistics of a modern port: that is what makes our company so unique. In recent years, we have developed into the second largest transhipment centre for grain and animal feed in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, certified according to GMP+ B3. We can handle up to 300 tonnes of grain per hour, 24 hours a day in a continuous shift system.

    Logistics

BayWa Agrarhandel GmbH plans and manages the transport and logistics of selected agricultural commodities and specialities via our regional logistics locations. Transport is carried out using a modern fleet of more than sixty trucks. We also organise freight transport for our agricultural products via a network of logistics partners using conventional truck transport. In addition to transport by lorry, our goods are transported by block train from Saxony to Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. In total, we transport over 2.5 million tonnes of grain annually.
